The African nation of Nigeria and the Asian nation of India have respectively witnessed various scams being perpetrated by certain individuals/criminal syndicates. The Nigerian '419 scam' and the Indian call center scam are oft-discussed topics in the socio-political realm.

Former two-time UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, a Nigerian-born New Zealander, spoke to influencer Nina-Marie Daniele before UFC 305. Daniele lightheartedly asked how good Nigerian scammers are, to which Adesanya deemed them "the best" and even referenced "our 419."

Daniele clarified she isn't Indian but is French-Italian and was born in America. Adesanya speculated that her father was Italian, to which she noted that her father is French and Italian and her mother is Italian.

The interview's video featured a previous interview's snippet, in which Leon Edwards asked whether Daniele was of Arab descent. Moreover, after learning about Daniele's ethnicity, Adesanya revisited her question and said:

"Yeah, now, we're the best. Whatever we do, Nigeria, we're the best. Straight up; like, that's the best. The problem, though, look, these guys that do it, they have new ways of doing it. They do it with f**king QR codes now. But, like, the problem is over there the government is so corrupt. So, just, yeah. There's no opportunities for the young guys who are really smart to make way, so they find ways through doing the dirty stuff."

He added:

"But if and when they get the opportunity, these old dinosaurs die out, the young generations take over, and start making the country great, then, yeah, you'll see more. 'Cause already, we're all over the world. Nigerians are everywhere, in different parts of cultures all over the world. But, yeah, eventually, we'll be shining for the right reasons and not for [scamming] ..."

'The Last Stylebender' underscored that scamming is not all they shine at, but it's simply something they're known for. Adesanya reiterated that they're the best at everything.

Israel Adesanya responds to Nina-Marie Daniele getting scammed

Nina-Marie Daniele further indicated that she "got scammed by Indians." Adesanya weighed in by asserting that the Indian scammers are "pretty good too." Daniele noted they were very persistent, adding that they'd told her that she owed the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) $5,000.

Israel Adesanya put on his iteration of an Indian accent, and Nina-Marie Daniele opined that the alleged scammers sounded the same. She recalled being instructed to go to the bank and not hang up the call, or else they'd visit her. 'Izzy' weighed in by advising her:

"You should have known the bank won't be coming for you like that. But it's alright, we learned. We learned. Yeah. It would've happened to me as well. We learned." [19:01]

Israel Adesanya had a verbal skirmish with a reporter at a press conference during UFC 305 fight week. He later signaled that his interaction with Nina-Marie Daniele was the most intriguing fight week interview. Furthermore, Daniele subsequently emphasized that she was grateful that Adesanya didn't retire after his loss to Dricus du Plessis at UFC 305.
