Former UFC middleweight champions Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker were pictured training together earlier this week. Adesanya previously knocked out Whittaker in 2019 to win the middleweight title. The pair faced off again at UFC 271 in 2022, with Adesanya coming out on top again and winning the fight via unanimous decision.

Both 'Stylebender' and 'Bobby Knuckles' are future UFC Hall of Famers but both fighters are facing a dip in form. Adesanya is on a two-fight skid losing against Sean Strickland and Dricus du Plessis. On the other hand, Whittaker was finished ruthlessly by Chimaev in the first round at UFC 308 which resulted in the Australian facing dislocated bottom teeth.

In a recent video on Adesanya's YouTube channel, FREESTYLEBENDER, Whittaker was asked if he would like to fight Strickland. Whittaker expressed interest but Adesanya interrupted, saying he wants the American to himself. 'The Stylebender' said:

"Nah, leave that to me. I got that."

"He's just more natural" - Israel Adesanya says Islam Makhachev passes Khabib Nurmagomedov in fighting skills

Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya praised Islam Makhachev for being more of a natural fighter than the great Khabib Nurmagomedov. In the aforementioned collaboration between Adesanya and Robert Whittaker, the pair discussed UFC 311 and its main attraction, the lightweight champion Makhachev.

Whittaker was full of praise for Makhachev's ability to recognize openings. Meanwhile, Adesanya felt the lightweight champion has more instinct toward striking than his current coach Khabib Nurmagomedov:

"He's just more natural. Like, Khabib was always like the best of their group, but his striking was still a little bit clumsy. Like, he throws hands to get close. He's just like, 'I'm great at this [wrestling].' But yeah, he's [Islam Makhachev] is definitely the next level up in that clan, and his striking is just looking way more comfortable lately. Way more polished."
