“It always killed me” - Dante Leon says he was dying for revenge victory over Tommy Langaker

29-year-old Canadian jiu-jitsu star and former IBJJF no-gi world champion Dante Leon says his recent victory over Norwegian rival Tommy Langaker was a long time coming.

The two met initially at the Pan Americans in 2018, where Leon dropped a points loss to Langaker. But now, meeting again under the banner of the world's largest martial arts organization last weekend, Leon was relieved to have exacted revenge.

Speaking to the media in a post-fight interview, Leon said he had wanted the rematch with Langaker for the longest time.

The Pedigo Submission Fighting representative said:

"So, you know, it was always one that I felt like I could have, should have won, kind of thing, and it always killed me not having a chance to get it back. So when I had the opportunity, even though I had to move up in weight for this match, it was something that I just really wanted to do."
