ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Jonathan Haggerty trained hard for his scheduled title defense this week in Denver, Colorado, U.S.A. He, however, made sure to balance things out by immersing and enjoying the breathtaking scenery that the "Mile High City" has to offer.

'The General' is set to defend the bantamweight Muay Thai belt in the headlining contest at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6. He will be taking on the challenge presented by flyweight king Superlek Kiatmoo9 in an all-champion super title fight.

In an interview with ONE Championship ahead of ONE 168, Jonathan Haggerty spoke about how things were after moving his camp to Denver from Thailand, including how it involved checking out the beautiful landscape of the area like the Red Rocks with his team.

The 27-year-old Englishman said:

"Yeah, it's amazing, the atmosphere, just soaking it all in, really, especially when we were there (Red Rocks) when the sun was just rising."
"So it was a great, great experience. Just to experience it with all of us. And yeah, it was amazing. Somewhere I'll definitely come back to," he added.

Jonathan Haggerty will once again defend the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title at ONE 168 after retaining the belt in his last fight back in February with a TKO victory over Brazilian challenger Felipe Lobo.

Looking to cut his reign, meanwhile, is Superlek, who is climbing a weight division higher to realize his goal of becoming a two-sport world champion while extending his impressive 10-fight winning streak.

ONE 168: Denver will take place at the Ball Arena and air live and for free in U.S. primetime with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription. Tickets for the event are available for purchase on Ticketmaster.

Jonathan Haggerty considers Superlek fight as among the most important in his career

As his upcoming title defense is happening in the United States, Jonathan Haggerty is viewing his showdown with Superlek Kiatmoo9 with a lot of significance, even among the most important in his career.

The Orpington, England native shared this in an interview with the South China Morning Post, highlighting how competing in the U.S. is a longtime bucket list item for him. And now that it is finally here, he is just happy and excited to realize it.

He said:

"Yeah, this is probably one of the most important fights in my career, and if not, it will be one of the most important fights. To be fighting out in the U.S. is exciting for me, because I remember, when I was a child, I used to grow up watching the fights in the American cards, all the crowd. I always told myself, and I always told my dad, this is where I want to fight and to be headlining the show."

Jonathan Haggerty became the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion in April last year and had one successful defense of it before Superlek. He is also the division's kickboxing champion.
