Superbon is expecting another tough battle against ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai in their scheduled title rematch this week. He, however, believes he has found an added pathway to get the better this time around of the reigning champion.
The newly elevated featherweight kickboxing king makes another go at the division's Muay Thai gold at ONE 170 on Jan. 24 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. It is a redo of their first showdown in December 2023, in which Tawanchai retained his belt with a majority decision victory.
In an interview with ONE Championship, Superbon shared his thoughts on his rematch with Tawanchai, including how he intends to fight from range if he finds himself in such a setting.
He said:

"But from watching his previous recorded fights with other fighters, I found that if I hadn’t approached him that close, he wouldn’t be able to push me with his feet like that. If I keep springing in and out, it’d be harder for him. So, I think that’s adjustable in the next fight."
Tawanchai-Superbon II is the headlining match for ONE 170, which is the promotion's first numbered event for the year.
The event is available on the ONE YouTube channel and Facebook (geo-restrictions may apply) as well as on watch.ONEFC.com.
Superbon using Jo Nattawut's approach against Tawanchai at ONE 170
Among those who Superbon studied in preparation for his title rematch with Tawanchai PK Saenchai at ONE 170 on Jan. 24 was veteran Thai fighter Jo Nattawut, who had two closely fought matches against the reigning featherweight Muay Thai world champion.
He made this known in the same interview with ONE Championship, highlighting the tough stand put up by 'Smokin' Jo against Tawanchai was sort of an eye-opener for him, saying:
"Jo and I both have the same style of guards, which lets me see Tawanchai's weaknesses clearer and also figure out the plan of what to do better."
Nattawut took Tawanchai to the limit in each of their two matches in ONE Championship. The last one back in June where the reigning featherweight Muay Thai world champion narrowly won by majority decision.
