Dante Leon hopes to face either Ruotolo brother in a ONE Championship submission grappling world title bout.
Over the last month and a half, Leon has quickly made a name for himself in ONE by securing wins against Bruno Pucci and Tommy Langaker. The 29-year-old now looks to face lightweight submission grappling world champion Kade Ruotolo or his twin brother, welterweight submission grappling world Tye Ruotolo.
Following his latest win at ONE Fight Night 27, Leon did a post-fight interview with Nick Atkin to talk about what's next. The Canadian had this to say:
"Like I said, it depends on who's available. It depends on where I'm at. There are a lot of moving parts, I think with that Kade and Tye both. I feel like Kade is all the way invested in MMA. He's had multiple fights. Tye's showing interest in wanting to do MMA fights as well. So it's tough to say. We'll have to see what their availability is like."

Dante Leon believes Kade Ruotolo is more focused on MMA than submission grappling
Kade Ruotolo's last submission grappling match was against Francisco Lo in April 2024. Since then, the ONE lightweight world champion has successfully transitioned to professional MMA, securing two submission wins against Blake Cooper and Ahmed Mujtaba.
During the previously mentioned interview, Dante Leon had this to say about Ruotolo potentially prioritizing MMA over submission grappling:
"Kade is a guy who's, walking at the 170 range, about what I am. But with Kade, like I said, he's very invested in MMA, very invested in grappling, or not as invested in grappling anymore, as he is in MMA. So it all depends on where the cards fall."
Tye Ruotolo also plans to fight in professional MMA but his debut timeline is unclear. In the meantime, Ruotolo might be interested in defending his welterweight submission grappling world title against Dante Leon, especially considering they have a 1-1 series outside of ONE Championship.
