Mayssa Bastos was pleased with her performance at ONE Fight Night 26, where she earned her third consecutive win in the promotion.
After claiming the ONE atomweight submission grappling world championship in her last outing, the Brazilian now looked to defend her belt.
At ONE Fight Night 24 in August, she emerged victorious in a closely contested match with defending queen Danielle Kelly. Kelly was able to cause her some problems, but ultimately it was Bastos who was able to get the closest to a submission victory which earned her the decision win.
Their rematch on Dec. 6 at Lumpinee Stadium was another competitive clash but Bastos believes that she definitely improved upon her performance in their first meeting.

She left it late to produce the decisive move of the match, scoring a catch as the clock ran down to seal the victory and defend her belt.
Though Mayssa Bastos will have wanted to have got the submission in order to really make a statement, she was happy to have improved as she gave her thoughts on the performance in a post-event interview with ONE Championship:
"Yeah, I think it was more dominant than last time, and I think I was more dominant than her, for sure."
Mayssa Bastos showed her class once again
Mayssa Bastos has shown in both of her clashes with Danielle Kelly why she has won so many titles and accolades throughout her career.
Her opponent made both matches difficult for the Brazilian, but on both occasions she was able to just pull ahead when it really mattered in order to get her hand raised.
Bastos is a serial winner and it showed on Dec. 6 at Lumpinee Stadium, where she remained undefeated under the ONE Championship banner.
It's been a big year for her in 2024 and we will now see what 2025 has in store for the atomweight champion.
