Two-sport world champion Jonathan Haggerty believes he has a claim to Fabricio Andrade's 26 pounds of gold. After all, he viciously knocked out 'Wonder Boy' last year to claim the formerly vacant bantamweight kickboxing throne.
As such, 'The General' thinks it's only fair that he should get an immediate shot at the bantamweight MMA belt in his possible mixed martial arts debut. Haggerty made this clear in a recent interview with The Sporting News:
"It is what it is. If ONE Championship thinks it's right or wrong, it's up to them to give me a fight."

Apart from being the kickboxing king at 145 pounds, Haggerty also simultaneously owns the bantamweight Muay Thai world title. By the looks of it, the British megastar has aspirations to become an unprecedented three-sport world champion.
While the 27-year-old has only competed in striking-exclusive affairs over the years, he has also teased about growing up in his father's MMA gym. Then again, the case can also be made that Haggerty remains unproven in MMA and should pay his dues first before getting an outright title shot.
Jonathan Haggerty must first handle business in his own division
For now, thoughts of fighting Andrade are the least of Jonathan Haggerty's concerns. 'The General' must first ensure the bantamweight Muay Thai belt stays in England by denying Superlek Kiatmoo9's two-division world title aspirations.
This gargantuan showdown between two of the finest strikers on the planet will headline the historic ONE 168: Denver on September 6 at Ball Arena.
Haggerty told The Sporting News the magnitude of this epic showdown:
"We know what we're up against. We're excited for this one. I think everybody's been waiting for this fight, and it's finally here. We're both in our primes, at our peaks, and we're both in the best organization in the world."
