Christian Lee recently argued that his claim for the ONE welterweight world title was the obvious choice to make.
‘The Warrior’ is due to fight in a few days' time. He'll challenge Kiamrian Abbasov for his ONE welterweight world title at ONE on Prime Video 4. Fans can expect fireworks as the two world champions collide for MMA glory live and for free with a Prime Video subscription.
For Christian Lee, the dream of becoming a two-division world champion couldn’t have come at a better time. Speaking to ONE Championship, the Singaporean-American explained:
“I believe it's about two years since [Abbasov] defended the welterweight title. I've been actively clearing out the lightweight division. So right now, there is no clear contender, and with there being no fight in the lightweight or welterweight division, it only makes sense to put the two champions together.”

The 24-year-old sensation is coming fresh off of an epic world title rematch against Ok Rae Yoon at ONE 160 this past August.
Lee proved his doubters wrong when he accomplished everything he predicted he would do. Coming in with a better game plan, Lee utilized his speed and pinpoint punching accuracy to finish the fight in the second round.
He learned from his first match with Ok that you had to finish fights instead of leaving it to the judges for a decision; a truism he refused to repeat the second time around.
Seemingly at the top of his game, Lee was fortunate enough to gain another world title opportunity in a heavier weight class.
He finished the interview by adding:
“So, of course, I'm grateful for the opportunity that ONE Championship has given me but I'm also grateful that everything aligned the right way so that this fight could happen.”
Christian Lee predicts a submission finish against Kiamrian Abbasov at ONE on Prime Video 4
Christian Lee is looking forward to meeting Kiamrian Abbasov in the circle at ONE on Prime Video 4.
The MMA United representative has the highest finishing rate in his division, including 11 TKOs and four submissions. Although Lee likes to overwhelm opponents with some high-volume striking, Lee also has a strong jiu-jitsu background.
It will be interesting to see whether Lee chooses to finish Abbasov at his own game or if he will look for another scintillating knockout finish.
In a new promotional video ONE Championship released recently, Christian Lee predicted the outcome of the match and said:
“I’ll take the finish as soon as it comes, whenever I can. But I think it’s going to be a submission in the third round.”
