Jon Jones is currently under heavy fire from fans and some pundits for his apparent refusal to face Tom Aspinall. 'Bones' is the current heavyweight champion, while Aspinall holds the interim title.
Jones is scheduled to defend his belt against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 on Nov. 16. Should he defeat Miocic, the New York native has stated that he would look to face light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira instead of fighting the interim heavyweight champion.
His comments have left the 38-year-old wide open to criticism from fans. Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping also believes that should 'Bones' refuse to face Aspinall in pursuit of a Pereira fight, he should be stripped of his title.
During a recent YouTube video on his channel, Bisping said:

"When [Jones] fights Stipe Miocic, and if he is victorious, then he has to face Tom Aspinall next. This is just the way the world works. And if he doesn't, this is in the words of Khabib Nurmagomedov, 'Number one bullsh*t.' I'm telling you right now, it is no.1 bullsh*t. And if he refuses to fight Tom Aspinall next, then we've gotta start having a serious conversation as to whether or not this man should be stripped."
He continued:
"Jon is the undisputed champion of the world, Tom is the interim champion, this is how it works. They face one another! He's calling out Alex Pereira for a legacy fight."

Dricus du Plessis shares stunning revelation about Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall
With nearly the entire MMA fanbase in agreement that Jon Jones should fight Tom Aspinall if the 38-year-old beats Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, Dricus du Plessis has shared an uncommon opinion on the potential matchup.
'Stillknocks' was recently interviewed by Submission Radio, where he discussed the potential heavyweight championship unifier, and explained why he was not in favor of the matchup.
"It's very hard to say this publicly, but I don't need to see Tom Aspinall vs. Jon Jones. I love both of them, Tom Aspinall is such an awesome guy. I met Jones quickly, amazing. Massive guy, for me, that I look up to as a martial artist... I look up to Tom Aspinall so much. I just don't need to see that fight. For me, it's a lose-lose situation."
