'The Monkey God' said:

"Whenever he goes against anybody, you see it. He’s got great boxing skills. He’s been working with Cuban Olympians his whole camp so I had to adjust, like I said in our interviews - it’s all about adjustments and adaptation."

Brooks then went on to thank his coaches for their help, especially the advice they gave in his corner.

He added:

"Thank you so much Alex, thank you so much James, thank you so much, Bryan, for being in my corner, for giving me amazing corner advice and helping me stay calm in a bad situation."

Jarred Brooks gives props to Gustavo Balart for gutsy performance: "That dude is an animal"

Jarred Brooks expected to make light work of Gustavo Balart, but he was met with much resistance in their strawweight MMA showdown.

As such, the American star had to give Balart his due, and praised the Cuban veteran for doing something no one else has done before.

'The Monkey God' said:

"Much respect to Gustavo Balart. That dude is an animal. He put me on my back for the first time in my whole career. So hats off to him."

ONE Fight Night 24: Brooks vs. Balart took place live from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday, August 3rd. Fans in the United States and Canada can catch all the action via replay on-demand on Amazon Prime Video.
