Anissa Meksen claimed she's been waiting four years for the opportunity presented in her upcoming fight.
Meksen has fought four times under the ONE Championship banner, establishing promotional records of 1-1 in kickboxing and 2-0 in Muay Thai. 'C18' is also a former 7x world champion between the two sports, but she hasn't solidified her legacy in her current promotion by securing ONE gold.
On Nov. 8, Meksen has a chance to strengthen her overall resume at ONE 169. The 36-year-old is scheduled to fight Jackie Buntan, with the inaugural women's strawweight kickboxing world title on the line.
Meksen recently did an interview with the South China Morning Post to discuss her upcoming fight against Buntan. She had this to say about the opportunity:

"Yeah, it’s a new belt, you know. So it’s amazing. It’s a good opportunity for me. And I’ve been waiting for this challenge [for] four years. So that's why it's amazing."
ONE 169 will air live from the legendary combat sports venue of Lumpinee Boxing Stadium on Nov. 8. The upcoming spectacle in Bangkok, Thailand features three world title fights, including Jackie Buntan vs. Anissa Meksen.
ONE 169 will also showcase Anatoly Malykhin vs. 'Reug Reug' Oumar Kane (heavyweight MMA world title) and Rodtang Jitmuangnon vs. Jacob Smith (flyweight Muay Thai world title). North American and Canadian viewers can watch the event live and for free with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.

Jackie Buntan equally as motivated as Anissa Meksen to become ONE world champion
Anissa Meksen isn't the only fighter looking to etch their name into ONE Championship history at ONE 169. Meksen's upcoming opponent, Jackie Buntan, has been with the promotion since February 2021 and plans to leave the Nov. 8 event with a word title around her waist.
Buntan holds a promotional Muay Thai record of 6-1. The 27-year-old plans to overcome her kickboxing experience disadvantage with heart and determination. It'll be easier said than done because Meksen has similar qualities. Only time will tell who can make history in the women's strawweight kickboxing division.
