ONE flyweight MMA contender Danny Kingad lost his mother earlier this year but has steadily grown to accept it while holding on to the many memories he had while she was still around.
'The King' opened up about the sad episode of his life in an interview with ONE Championship, sharing that her mother's passing also taught him how to live and appreciate every moment spent with his loved ones.
Danny Kingad said:
"Of course, I'm still hurt. I don't think it will ever go away. But I have to accept that it was really her time. It reminded me of our mortality, that our loved ones aren't going to be here forever. So it's all about cherishing every moment."

He added:
"I'm just happy to be her son. She raised me well."
As he continues to come to terms with the passing of his mother, Danny Kingad returns to action on Nov. 8 at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. He will take on former flyweight king Adriano Moraes in a rematch.
ONE 169 will be aired live and for free to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
Danny Kingad says he is better prepared against Adriano Moraes in rematch
Danny Kingad fell to Adriano Moraes in their first encounter in November 2017, losing by submission in the opening round. It is something he is confident of redeeming himself from in their rematch at ONE 169 next month, believing he is better prepared and ready this time around.
He touched on this in an interview with The MMA Superfan in line with his upcoming fight, highlighting how he has grown as a fighter since his first encounter with 'Mikinho' and is looking to showcase it in their reengagement.
The Lions Nation MMA affiliate said:
"Back then, I wasn't sure yet, let's say I wasn't ripe for the picking yet. I feel now that I'm getting older, getting wiser and better now. I believe I'm in my prime physically."
Since losing to Moraes, Kingad has won eight of his last 11 matches and is one of the top contenders in the ONE flyweight MMA division. He hopes to secure a win over Moraes at ONE 169 to earn a possible shot at the vacant flyweight title.
