Caio Borralho recently gave his take on Dricus du Plessis, the champion in his division. Following du Plessis' impressive performance at UFC 305 this past weekend, Borralho is intrigued by the South African titleholder's style and commended its effectiveness.
'Stillknocks' defended his title against former champion Israel Adesanya in the main event of UFC 305 in Perth, Australia, winning via fourth-round submission. Like every other du Plessis bout, the fight was chaotic and eventful, something he seemingly forces against every opponent.
During media day ahead of UFC Vegas 96, Borralho congratulated du Plessis on his success but was clearly amused at how the latter continues to win despite his "bad" technique and game-plan. Ahead of his pivotal bout this weekend, 'The Natural' had this to say about the reigning 185-pound king:
''It's crazy... I always bet against him [du Plessis]. It's crazy how bad he is, but how he makes it work... Props to him. Man, I just need to congratulate him because, even with bad technique, bad gameplan, crazy style, he always makes it work. He is winning, he is undefeated in the UFC, so he deserves the spot where he is right now.''

Borralho, who will take on former title challenger Jared Cannonier this Saturday, is "looking forward" to fighting du Plessis down the line. He added:
''I just think about Jared [Cannonier], I don't want to think about anything else, but looking forward to get this fight.''

During UFC Vegas 96 media day, Borralho previewed this high-stakes clash, adding that he's well prepared for the threats posed by 'Tha Killa Gorilla':
''I’m prepared. I worked my a*s off for this fight, and I think I deserve this victory. Let’s just see how prepared he’s going to come, and see how prepared he comes for me. I’m going to push the pace, I’m going to make the rhythm high at all times and let’s see how he behaves in the fight. It all depends on him and if he came very well-prepared. I’m prepared to knock him out or finish him because I have the ground game, and he doesn’t have that much, so let’s see how Jared comes.”
