Fifth-ranked bantamweight Muay Thai contender Nabil Anane seems calm ahead of his first kickboxing foray under the ONE banner.

There would certainly be no feeling out process for the towering Algerian-Thai sensation, who will take on former bantamweight kickboxing world champion Petchtanong Petchfergus this coming Friday at ONE Fight Night 26: Lee vs. Rasulov on Prime Video.

On Dec. 6, live in US Primetime, Anane will look to enter the 145-pound division's top 5 by besting the 39-year-old veteran inside 'The Mecca of Muay Thai' Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Despite the tough task at hand, the 20-year-old is in high spirits and remains unbothered about competing under a ruleset he's not used to.

The Team Mehdi Zatout star believes he'll have an easier time adjusting to the intricacies of a kickboxing match.

Nabil Anane said in a recent interview with The Bangkok Post:

"Personally, I like kickboxing. I feel like it’s easier than Muay Thai. It’s less intimidating, and it’s easier to control and make use of range."

With his pterodactyl-like length, it's not hard to see why Anane feels like distance management won't be an issue.

Then again, he must also remember that elbows and clinching are banned in kickboxing, which happens to be a big part of his striking repertoire.

Danial Williams says Nabil Anane doesn't get enough credit for his technical prowess

Nabil Anane has been on an absolute tear, winning his last five fights in ONE. It's quite easy to point out the 6-foot-4 fighter's obvious physical tools as the reason for his success.

However, three-sport athlete Danial Williams believes Anane is more technically sound than people give him credit for.

'Mini T' explained in a Sportskeeda MMA Exclusive:

"I’ve been impressed by Nabil. He’s such a tough guy to fight against. His size and everything. He knows how to mix things up. Sometimes size alone doesn’t matter. And that’s where you can see the more technical prowess of his."

ONE Fight Night 26 is free on demand for Amazon Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
