Anissa Meksen knows just how important it is to stay disciplined in her line of work.
After 103 career wins and a slew of world titles to her credit, the French-Algerian fan favorite will step back onto martial arts' biggest global stage for perhaps the most important fight of her illustrious career on Friday, November 8.
Meksen will square off with Boxing Works star Jackie Buntan as part of an absolutely loaded ONE 169 card inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok—the winner leaving as the inaugural ONE strawweight kickboxing queen.

Speaking with the South China Morning Post, Meksen offered some insight into what keeps her training hard, even when she struggles to find the motivation to do so.
"This is discipline now. When you don’t want to train, you need to be disciplined. It’s not easy because sometimes you are in trouble, sometimes you are tired, sometimes you want to cry, but staying focused and staying disciplined is very important."
Will discipline be the difference-maker at ONE 169?
Anissa Meksen faces a tough test against a young and hungry Jackie Buntan at ONE 169
While Anissa Meksen walks into one of the biggest combat sports events of 2024 with a massive advantage in experience, many still see her as the underdog against the young and hungry Jackie Buntan.
Since making her ONE Championship debut nearly four years ago, Buntan has looked nothing short of spectacular, earning six victories, including back-to-back-to-back wins against Amber Kitchen, Diandra Martin, and Martine Michieletto in her last three outings.
The trio of Ws has led her to a shot at becoming a ONE world champion for the first time in her career and bringing 26 pounds of gold back home to the United States.
Will Buntan capitalize on the opportunity and score the biggest win of her career thus far, or will the seven-time titleholder emerge victorious and add another accolade to her already impressive resume?
Fans in the United States and Canada can watch ONE 169: Malykhin vs. ‘Reug Reug’ live on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, November 8 in U.S. primetime.
