During his long period of inactivity due to his injuries, Liam Harrison has had to change the way he thinks about fighting. The English striking veteran has spent the best part of two decades chasing down the biggest fights and challenges that are possibly out there for him.

Having nearly had his career end without him getting the final say, Harrison is coming back with different expectations from himself. 'Hitman' is now more focused on getting some final fights under his belt, entertaining fans, and taking his incredible career on a victory lap.

That lap begins at ONE 167 against Katsuki Kitano, where he will put his body to the test for the first time in nearly two years.

Liam Harrison told the ONE on SK podcast that if he isn't hitting the levels he wants to, he isn't going to drag this retirement tour out:

"It's all about enjoying myself and entertaining the fans. Like I said, if I come back and I feel like I'm a step behind, no one wants to watch that. No one will be interested in watching me fight."

Liam Harrison believes he can still do it

Given how much time he has had off, Liam Harrison is being cautious about what he can really expect from his body at this point in his career.

There's no lack of belief on his side, as Harrison stated that he feels good beating up his training partners in sparring once again.

However, Harrison knows he cannot afford to get ahead of himself and start to trip over his own feet before he has taken the first few steps.

Getting his hand raised against Kitano at the Impact Arena in Bangkok on June 7 is the primary focus, and until that bout is done and dusted, there is no tomorrow for 'Hitman'.

ONE 167, featuring the atomweight world championship contest between Stamp Fairtex and Denice Zamboanga, will air live on June 7 from the Impact Arena.
