Jacob Smith is focusing on the task in front of him rather than looking back on the past that he can no longer change.
The Brit has got the biggest fight of his life quickly approaching him and he's doing what he can to keep his eyes on the prize.
At ONE 169 on Nov. 8, the Brit will challenge Rodtang Jitmuangnon for the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world championship in a rematch.
Smith admitted that he was surprised to get this fight next after suffering a defeat in his last outing.

The argument in his favor is that the Brit was very passionate about the fact that he did not lose to Denis Puric in their closely contested outing.
This is still something that bothers him but in a recent interview with Combat Sports Today, Smith chose to let the past be the past:
"It is what it is. It's the fight game. But, that fight, I don't feel like I deserve to lose that fight. Many reasons, but I don't really want to delve into too much, and one of them, though, in fact, no, I'll just leave it there. Let's just concentrate on [the Rodtang fight]."

Jacob Smith is putting all of his focus on Nov. 8
Jacob Smith made his ONE Championship debut with his first encounter with Rodtang Jitmuangnon two and a half years ago. He held his hands up after the fight by saying that the moment was too much for him at the time but this won't be the case in the rematch.
The challenge is heading into Nov. 8 confident that he has made the right adjustments since their first encounter where his toughness kept him in the fight.
Smith is looking to put his previous shortcomings behind him by leaving Bangkok, Thailand, with the flyweight Muay Thai gold at ONE 169.
ONE 169 will be available on Amazon Prime Video for fans in North America with an active subscription.
