ONE Championship is gearing up for two incredible back-to-back events this weekend. With ONE on Prime Video 4 on Friday and ONE 163 on Saturday, the promotion is also hyping up its next event just a few short weeks away. ONE 164 on December 3 will be headlined by a long-awaited strawweight world championship showdown.
Reigning and defending titleholder Joshua "The Passion" Pacio will take on 'The Monkey God' Jarred Brooks. Pacio and Brooks have been trading verbal jabs with one another online and in interviews for the better part of the year. Originally scheduled to fight in June, the two strawweight stars will finally compete inside the circle.
Discussing the main event clash in an interview with CNN Sports Desk, ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong revealed two possible finishes he sees for the matchup:
“I think it's going to end in a finish. I see Pacio winning by a KO early, or I see Jarred Brooks winning by TKO later. I think it's going to be a classic striker vs. grappler matchup.”

Also scheduled for the event is the highly-anticipated return of former ONE heavyweight world champion Brandon 'The Truth' Vera. In his first appearance since losing the heavyweight crown, Vera will take on Iranian wrestler Amir Aliakbari.

Jarred Brooks is taking a “kill or be killed” approach to his work in ONE Championship
Jarred Brooks’ trash-talking outside of the circle is almost as iconic as his intensity and ability inside it. So far, 'The Monkey God' has backed up every single word, going undefeated under the ONE Championship banner.
On December 3 at ONE 164, he’ll attempt to keep that streak going against the reigning strawweight world champion, Joshua Pacio. Ready to deliver the performance of his life in front of Pacio’s hometown crowd in Manila, 'The Monkey God' will walk into the main event contest with a “kill or be killed” mentality. Speaking during a ONE Championship pre-fight media day, Brooks said:
“I’m ready for whatever you bring to me, man. At the end of the day, this is a kill or be killed sport, and I’m definitely ready to kill.”
Brooks also shared a word of warning for any man thinking they could step into the circle and wrestle with him:
“I’ve been wrestling my whole life, I have the best wrestling in ONE right now. If you try to take my back — anything like that — I’m going to come out guns blazing.”
