"It's not going to be the sexiest fight" - Ex-UFC champion shares eye-opening take on Dricus du Plessis vs. Sean Strickland 2 

Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold has weighed in on the upcoming clash between Dricus du Plessis and Sean Strickland.

During an interview with Submission Radio, the 40-year-old suggested that Strickland might lack focus in preparation for the fight. Rockhold added that he had trained with du Plessis in the past and, according to him, the South African will bring a more "balanced" approach to the fight.

Rockhold ended by saying that the bout might prove to be a rough day at work for both middleweights:

"Sean Strickland looks like he's been through some f**king injuries and some weird s**t... He just doesn't seem like maybe his head is in it as much... DDP seems like he's kind of focused. I know that guy pretty well. Trained with him a lot. He knows what he's gonna do. He's gonna bring a full spectrum game. He's awkward and he's just tough and tenacious and he's not gonna stop. Can Sean land a big enough shot or stop him? ... I think DDP is gonna bring more of a balanced game with takedowns and things and we'll see how it goes. I mean, it's not gonna be the sexiest fight but, you know, it'll be a tough fight."

When will Dricus du Plessis and Sean Strickland fight again?

Dricus du Plessis is set to defend his middlweight throne against Sean Strickland at UFC 312.

The clash will headline the card, which is set to take place on Feb. 9 at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia.

The bout will be a rematch as the two fighters first locked horns at UFC 297 in January 2024. The fight was a razor-close affair that ended with a split decision victory for 'Stillknocks'.
