During a recent conversation with hip-hop star Danny Brown, Joe Rogan responded to his hilarious Muay Thai story.

In an edition of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Brown revealed that he joined a Muay Thai gym a few months ago.

Rogan, for his part, asserted that training Muay Thai is a good form of cardio and martial arts training. Moreover, the UFC commentator and MMA personality notably emphasized that, "It's great to get tension out too."

Meanwhile, Brown suggested that he tried his best to learn the art for a few months. However, the rapper highlighted that being criticized for his choice of shorts discouraged him from returning and training at the gym.

The 41-year-old initially wore regular shorts to the gym but later bought what he referred to as "the shiniest Muay Thai shorts" he could find. On that note, Brown stated:

"One of the teachers, she's like, 'You know, you've got these shiny-a** shorts on. You worried about the wrong sh**. I thought to myself, 'You know what? You're right. I am worried about the wrong sh**. Why am I over here playing Bruce Leroy with y'all when I gotta put a f**kin album out.'"

Joe Rogan responded to the story by citing the example of kickboxing legend Badr Hari and opined that the shorts a Muay Thai practitioner wears don't really matter. Noting that the gym trainers shouldn't criticize Brown for his choice of shorts, Rogan said:

"They need to respect the shorts. There's this dude named Badr Hari. He's still an active kickboxer. But at one point in time, he was like one of the best in the world, if not the best, in the heavyweight division. And he would fight with like golf shorts on."

When Joe Rogan taught his signature kick to Georges St-Pierre

Apart from being an avid Muay Thai practitioner, Joe Rogan also happens to be a former Taekwondo competitor. Rogan is known for his record-breaking kicks. In fact, back in 2011, he'd taught MMA legend Georges St-Pierre his signature spinning back kick technique.

The kick's technique comprises spinning to generate greater torque and then landing a side kick on the opponent's torso. Speaking to GSP, Joe Rogan indicated that the key is to keep the kick's trajectory in line with the rest of the body rather than lifting the leg too high. Rogan stated:

"Notice how everything goes in a straight line. What you're doing wrong is your knee is low and as you're kicking, you're going up."
