Superbon is confident his world title redo against Tawanchai PK Saenchai will be a proper sequel to their insane duel in 2023.

The reigning ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion guns for two-sport supremacy when he challenges Tawanchai for the ONE featherweight Muay Thai world title in the main event of the stacked ONE 170 card on Friday at Impact Arena.

In an interview with Nick Atkin, Superbon said his second match against Tawanchai won't end in a knockout.

Superbon, however, believes their world title rematch would last all five rounds and that he's ready to head into deep water against Tawanchai in Bangkok.

"At this level, I think it’s hard to knock each other out because we’re in a little bit higher level, but if I can, I’m gonna knock him out. But even if we go to five rounds, I already have a lot of gas to go through five rounds," he said.

Superbon and Tawanchai are two of the most gifted strikers arguably of all time, and the pair of world champions nearly tore the Lumpinee Stadium during their 2023 barnburner.

Tawanchai defended his featherweight Muay Thai crown against Superbon in an absolute showcase during their first world title showdown.

Both fighters threw everything at each other and had the Bangkok crowd singing to every strike, but Tawanchai ultimately received the majority decision to retain the featherweight Muay Thai gold.

More than a year after their first super fight, the two Thai megastars run it back in what could be another Fight of the Year candidate.

Superbon plans to utilize range in second crack at Tawanchai's featherweight Muay Thai throne

Superbon is changing his approach when he squares off against Tawanchai for the second time in his career.

The 34-year-old played the aggressor when he first challenged Tawanchai for the ONE featherweight Muay Thai world title at ONE Friday Fights 46.

That approach ultimately backfired, with Tawanchai landing decisive kicks throughout the five-round contest.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Superbon said he'd switch it up for his second attempt at the featherweight Muay Thai strap and operate from distance to negate Tawanchai's counters.

"But from watching his previous recorded fights with other fighters, I found that if I hadn’t approached him that close, he wouldn’t be able to push me with his feet like that. If I keep springing in and out, it’d be harder for him. So, I think that’s adjustable in the next fight."
