ONE Championship legend Aung La N Sang is looking to get back on track against fellow all-time great, Yushin Okami. 'The Burmese Python' is grateful to be competing against yet another world-class fighter.
Aung La enters this upcoming fight at ONE 163 having lost three of his last four contests, including a pair of defeats to two-division champion Reinier de Ridder. The promotion is granting its legend another big-time matchup in Okami.
In conversation with The MMA Superfan, the 37-year-old discussed the opportunity ahead of him, saying:
"He’s a great fighter, he’s proven it over and over again. He has won in every promotion, he’s gotten world title shots. He’s a legit competitor and a great athlete. So for me to be able to compete against him, it’s an honor."

Aung La N Sang sticking to his guns for ONE 163 fight
Some martial artists adapt their gameplan and training regime to the strengths and weaknesses of their upcoming opposition. However, that's not the case for 'The Burmese Python'.
Aung La N Sang recently told ONE Championship:
“It doesn't make a big difference. I know what my skill sets are, I know what I'm strong at and I know what I'm good at. And at the gym, we have a lot of, you know, people that will give me different looks. So, I'll camp around what [my opponent's] strengths and weaknesses are. But that doesn't really change how I train. I'm down to compete against anybody in the world.”
Let's not forget that Aung La has shared time competing against the likes of Uriah Hall, Brandon Vera, de Ridder, and of course, Vitaly Bigdash on three occasions.
His most recent victory came via first-round knockout against Leandro Ataides in 2021. At one point, Aung La rattled off six consecutive stoppage victories.
Be sure to watch MMA legends Aung La N Sang and Yushin Okami face off in a much-anticipated matchup at ONE 163 on November 19, live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
