Going out on his own terms was important for Liam Harrison after the long career that he would be leaving behind.
The Brit's career was cut short following the injury that he suffered in 2022 which kept him on the sidelines for the best part of two years. In his return fight at ONE 168 this past weekend, Harrison was stopped in the second round by fellow Muay Thai icon, Seksan Or Kwanmuang.
'Hitman' laid his gloves in the middle of the circle before heading to the back, announcing that he would be retiring from high-level competition.
As the fans inside the Ball Arena in Denver witnessed first-hand, there still isn't an ounce of quit in the striking veteran who continued to fire back at his opponent until he physically couldn't anymore.

Harrison spoke at his post-event press conference about how competing in four-ounce gloves is just not an option for him at this stage in his career:
"When you got these little gloves on and stuff like that, I can't take the damage that I could take when I was still in my 20s and in my prime. It's just a shame."

Liam Harrison reflected on what could have been
Like many elite-level athletes who are coming to the end of their careers, Liam Harrison's mind is as strong as ever.
The issue is that his body can no longer do what he tells it to whether that's undergoing wear and tear in the gym or when competing inside the circle.
Having joined ONE Championship in his late career, there will always be a question of what could have been had ONE come along during his prime years.
All in all, 'Hitman' can have no career regrets because of the incredible legacy that he's able to leave behind as a true legend of the game.
