Jiri Prochazka claims he is not at all affected by Magomed Ankalaev training in the same gym as he is and that they leave each other alone for the most part.

Prochazka and Ankalaev are currently preparing to face Glover Teixeira and Jan Blachowicz, respectively, in the main and co-main events at UFC 282 on December 10 in Las Vegas.

With the winner of the co-main event potentially getting a title shot against the victor of the UFC 282 headliner, Prochazka was asked by The Schmo how he feels about training alongside a potential future opponent in Magomed Ankalaev at Xtreme Couture.

The champion replied:

"It's a little bit weird... He doesn't care about me being here to train and me too. I'm the same. So I'm just looking for my sparring partners and for my guys on the mat and I'm leaving him to do his work. We are both in preparation for our fights. When we go to fight together, I don't think we will train on the same mats."

Jiri Prochazka is currently reigning as the light heavyweight champion after taking the crown from Glover Teixeira at UFC 275. He will hope to defend his belt against the No.1-ranked contender in a rematch come December 10 at UFC 282.

Jan Blachowicz is currently the No.2-ranked contender. After his win over Aleksandar Rakic in May, the Pole will face Magomed Ankalaev in a possible title eliminator. Ankalaev is currently the No.3-ranked contender and is coming off a win over Anthony Smith at UFC 277.

Jiri Prochazka claims he's not interested in fighting Israel Adesanya

Jiri Prochazka has his sights set towards his title defense against Glover Teixeira on December 10 at UFC 282 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Beyond that, the current light heavyweight champion has insisted that he is not interested in facing Israel Adesanya in the future.

'The Last Stylebender' has previously tried to compete at light heavyweight hoping to claim a second UFC title. He fell short after a strong grappling display from then-champion Jan Blachowicz.

Speaking to the media prior to UFC 281 last week, Prochazka was asked about his thoughts on a potential superfight between him and 'The Last Stylebender'. He responded:

"The fight with Izzy? I'm not interested in this fight because, like you said, we are sharing the management and the people around. I respect him."

Adesanya and Prochazka share the same athletic management firm, Paradigm Sports. The agency boasts an impressive roster of fighters under their management, including Conor McGregor, Israel Adesanya, Leon Edwards and Stephen Thompson.

Israel Adesanya recently lost his middleweight title, falling to defeat against Alex Pereira for the third time in his career. With his sights currently set on an rematch against Pereira, it appears unlikely that the Nigerian-born Kiwi will try to move up to the light heavyweight division anytime soon.
