Denice Zamboanga will leave her future fighting plans in the hands of ONE Championship.

At ONE Fight Night 27, Zamboanga had a massive opportunity to claim the interim women's atomweight MMA world title. The Filipino capitalized on her chance with a second-round knockout against Alyone Rassohyna.

Zamboanga is nearly guaranteed a unified world title shot against Stamp Fairtex in her next fight. Yet, the 28-year-old plans to let the promotion decide what's best, as she said this during her ONE Fight Night 27 post-fight interview:

"It's up to ONE Championship because I don't think I have injuries after this, but yeah, it's up to ONE Championship."

Denice Zamboanga and Stamp Fairtex participate in friendly faceoff

Following her title-winning performance, Denice Zamboanga was met inside the ring by ONE women's atomweight MMA world champion Stamp Fairtex. The world-class fighters held their respective titles and expected to do an intense faceoff for their inevitable unification bout.

Instead, Zamboanga and Stamp decided to share a hug and showcase their respect for each other. The close friends and former training partners have continued to maintain their positive relationship despite an upcoming battle.

In June 2024, Zamboanga was scheduled to challenge Stamp for her ONE women's atomweight MMA world champion. Unfortunately, Stamp suffered a torn meniscus while training, forcing her to pull out and rehab for the remainder of the calendar year.

In the meantime, Zamboanga stayed focused and extended her winning streak to four with wins against Noelle Granjean and Alyona Rassohyna. 'The Menace' now looks to take out Stamp and become an undisputed world champion.
