Newly-crowned ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Chingiz Allazov blasted his way to a new world title at ONE Fight Night 6 last weekend. In front of a rabid crowd in Bangkok, Thailand, 'Chinga' utterly dismantled then-world champion Superbon Singha Mawynn inside two rounds.
Though it's undeniable that Chingiz Allazov has a strong chance of knocking out anybody on the face of the earth, doing what he did to Superbon still raised a lot of eyebrows. In a recent interview with SCMP MMA, the Belarusian striker spoke about the outcome of the fight in light of the slight trash talk that happened in the lead-up.
When asked what he thought of Superbon promising to knock him out and win a $100,000 bonus, Chingiz Allazov said:

"I saw his [Superbon's] interview. Many people sent that to me, but I don’t like Instagram. I have many messages [from people] who support me from other countries. I see Japanese fans, Belarusian, and Azerbaijan fans. I’m from Azerbaijan but I was born in Georgia. I’m from Gardabani. My brother was like, ‘What did [Superbon] say?’"
Allazov concluded with:
"It’s normal. It’s the sport, it’s part of the game and I have respect for Superbon."
Regardless of what happens before and after a fight, when two men enter a cage and engage in fistic conflict, respect will inevitably be earned. Trash-talking had been a part of prizefighting even before the days of Muhammad Ali. Not everyone uses it and it's not always effective. But when done right, they can create massive hype.
Chingiz Allazov wants ONE lightweight kickboxing king Regian Eersel next
Just minutes after hoisting his ONE featherweight kickboxing world title on his shoulder, Chingiz Allazov has already announced his next goal: a new belt in another sport. The Belarusian world champion is apparently eyeing the lightweight kickboxing belt held by two-sport world champion Regian Eersel.
In his post-fight interview with Mitch Chilson inside the circle, Allazov was told that he won a $50,000 performance bonus. Upon hearing this, Allazov said:
“Thank you [ONE CEO] Mr. Chatri [Sityodtong], thank you ONE Championship and guys, you know, I like a second belt to go [with this] you know. Maybe I fight 77 kilos. This guy, I don’t know his name. Eersel, yes. Yes I like this, we will do this, go!"
A bout with Eersel will definitely be interesting for Allazov. Being that the ONE featherweight kickboxing king's best weapon is his punches, he will need to get past the lengthy frame of Eersel in order to connect. This is on top of the fact that the ONE lightweight kickboxing and Muay Thai world champ is a naturally bigger fighter. This will be a brand new set of challenges Allazov has to take on.
