"It’s him with the problem" - Bo Nickal claims beef with fellow wrestler Jordan Burroughs is "not personal"

Bo Nickal recently opened up about his beef with fellow wrestler Jordan Burroughs. The dispute between Nickal and Burroughs started after the former objected to the latter's remarks made at the NCAA wrestling championships.

At the NCAA wrestling championships, on March 23, Carter Starocci wrestled against Rocco Welsh of Ohio State in the 174-pound event finale. Starocci defeated his opponent with a score of 2-0 points despite playing with an injured knee, winning his fourth NCAA championship.

In addition to Starocci's victory, the event featured a social media feud between Nickal and Burrough. Nickal, the 2019 U-23 world champion, criticized Burroughs, a six-time world champion, for his comments about Starocci's injury.

The 35-year-old said on air that Starocci's knee injury should be used against him, which did not impress Nickal. Nickal shared his thoughts on Burrough's remarks on his own YouTube channel.

He said:

''The thing that bothers me is that nobody sees this you know he always tries to act like an ambassador of the sport and oh you know congratulations to Penn State I'm so proud of you guys and what you're doing bro you're a freaking fraud."

In a recent appearance on The MMA Hour, Nickal spoke to Ariel Helwani about his feud with Burrough. He stated he had no remorse about how he handled the Burroughs situation:

''I think that I didn’t like what he had to say about one of my teammates and close friends, so I let that be known. And it’s him with the problem, so he can’t really do anything to me at the end of the day.”

Nickal claimed that during UFC 300 fight week, he even had the opportunity to speak with Daniel Cormier personally about the topic. He said:

''It’s not personal. Had it been any other guy in his position that would’ve said something about my teammate, I would have done the same thing.”

Carter Starocci responds to Bo Nickal's statement on Jordan Burroughs' remarks

Penn State wrestler Carter Starocci reacted to Bo Nickal's statement regarding Jordan Burroughs' recent commentary. Nickal criticized Burroughs for his comments on his YouTube channel after Burroughs made a remark about Starocci's injuries.

Starocci shared the interview on his X after coming across Nickal's statement. He said he could end Burroughs' career in three weeks' time. He wrote:

"All good . I’ll end his career in 3 weeks ."
