“It’s over for the rest of you” - Undefeated Sanzhar Zakirov calls out Reece McLaren, other flyweight MMA contenders

Sanzhar Zakirov wants the entire ONE flyweight MMA division to know that there's a new sheriff in town.

After a 3-0 run in the promotion's strawweight MMA ranks, the undefeated 21-year-old announced his entry to the 135-pound division with a dominant unanimous decision win over one of its mainstays, Tatsumitsu Wada.

Shortly after edging out 'The Sweeper' at ONE Fight Night 27 last weekend, Zakirov made it clear that he'll be moving to the higher weight class permanently.

Moreover, the Uzbekistan-born fighter even called out No. 4-ranked Reece McLaren and warned all flyweights to watch their back.

Sanzhar Zakirov told Nick Atkin of the Bangkok Post in his post-event interview:

"Reece, you’re next! And it’s over for the rest of you. Daddy’s coming for you."

Living up to his moniker 'Tornado', Zakirov has devastated everyone in his wake so far en route to a pristine 13-0 MMA record.

The Khaturaev Team standout displayed some flashy striking to give Wada problems in their striking exchanges, along with an advanced ground game to outclass the Japanese veteran across three rounds.

Sanzhar Zakirov wants to dive to the deep end by challenging Reece McLaren

Sanzhar Zakirov is never afraid to call his shots and is ready to test himself against bigger names to fast-track his route to a world title shot.

In order to secure an opportunity to bid for the flyweight MMA crown, the unbeaten Uzkbek knows he must go through one of the OGs of the 135-pound ranks, Reece McLaren.

In the same interview, Zakirov said a 'Tornado' versus 'Lighting' showdown clash in the next matchup to make:

"Next up, we're hoping to fight Reece McLaren. He fought against an old guy. We have the right fit right here. So next up, it's gonna be you. Good luck!"
