Reigning and undisputed ONE lightweight and welterweight MMA world champion 'The Warrior' Christian Lee of the United States believes he was well on his way to scoring a decisive victory over unbeaten Turkish rival Alibeg Rasulov last weekend, when an accidental eyepoke forced a halt to the action.

The 26-year-old Hawaii resident inadvertently jammed a finger into Rasulov's left eye, ending their lightweight MMA world title matchup at ONE Fight Night 26 on Prime Video abruptly.

The bout resulted in a No Contest ruling as Rasulov was deemed unable to continue.

After the event, Lee was asked if he wanted a rematch against Rasulov, but in a cage next time, 'The Warrior' says he would be open to it.

Lee stated:

"Yeah, I do think that it's slightly different fighting in a ring than in a cage. I think that I still would have gotten him down eventually."

As to when he believes he should rematch Rasulov, fans may be surprised it could be earlier than they think. The Singaporean-American star added:

"I think I’ll be back in action in March."

ONE Fight Night 26: Lee vs. Rasulov on Prime Video was broadcast live from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand last Saturday, Dec. 7. Fans in the United States and Canada can catch all the action via replay on-demand with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.

Christian Lee ready to follow ONE Championship's direction for his next fight

Reigning double champ 'The Warrior' Christian Lee is ready to let ONE Championship dictate what's next for him in his career following the Alibeg Rasulov fight.

The Singaporean-American star says he has two divisional belts he needs to defend, so there are plenty of options.

Lee stated:

"We’ll see what ONE Championship has in mind, what Chatri wants to do. There are two divisions that I’m [ruling]. So if it’s not a rematch at lightweight or a new opponent, then I’ll be looking to defend at welterweight, so doesn’t matter to me."
