Newly crowned ONE interim women's atomweight MMA world champion 'The Menace' Denice Zamboanga of the Philippines admits she still hasn't come to grips with finally winning the coveted gold.
Zamboanga realized her dream of becoming the first Filipina MMA world champion in a major organization last weekend at ONE Fight Night 27: Tang vs. Abdullaev on Prime Video, when she stopped Ukraine's Alyona Rassohyna in the second round to capture the interim belt.
Speaking to ONE Championship in a post-fight interview, Zamboanga says she can't believe she's a champion.

'The Menace' told Mitch Chilson:
"I'm very speechless. Until now, I couldn't get over that I took the belt, that I'm the champion. It’s still sinking in my head right now."
Zamboanga turned in an epic performance and needless to say, fans are certainly looking forward to her inevitable world title unification with former training partner and divisional queen Stamp Fairtex.

'The Menace' Denice Zamboanga was absolutely on point in her finish of Alyona Rassohyna at ONE Fight Night 27: Tang vs. Abdullaev on Prime Video last weekend.
The 28-year-old Quezon City resident says she has been working on her overall game for the past few years, and is now coming into her own.
She told ONE:
"Now, for this fight, I'm more comfortable with my striking and also with my top game and also my grappling skills."
