Top bantamweight Muay Thai contender Nico Carrillo walked away from the single most important fight of his career against Saemapetch, completely unscathed and unharmed due to an amazing fight camp.
On July 5, 'The King of the North' left the arena at ONE Fight Night 23 feeling completely fullfilled and vindicated, after taking out Saemapetch with the most drilled punching weapon he had in his arsenal.
It was almost a surreal moment for Carrillo, as he watched his Thai opposition crash to the ground twice using the same technique.
Feeling a sense of accomplishment after completing what he had set out to do, Carrillo told South China Morning Post:

"Just everything good. I'm pleased. I was gunning for that stuff, that short left hook that I dropped him off twice. We've been working on that all camp. So when stuff like that happens, it's super satisfying."
Nico Carrillo is certainly a gift that keeps on giving. He's made a career in ONE Championship destroying Muay Thai legends left, front, and center, to earn the title shot.
After seizing a 50K bonus for his early knockout against Saemapetch, fighting for the crown next is a done deal.

"I would preger to fight Haggerty" - Nico Carrillo wants to be the second guy in history to steal Jonathan Haggerty's bantamweight crown
Nico Carrillo is dying to be the next guy in ONE history to beat Jonathan Haggerty on the largest martial arts platform in the world.
The Scottish knockout artist has some past beef with the UK champion that he'd like to resolve. In past interviews, Haggerty is on the record saying that Carrillo won't see past the second round if they go head-to-head for the bantamweight Muay Thai world title.
Carrillo, therefore, is just waiting for the opportunity to prove 'The General' wrong. Hotly anticpating the world title fight results between Haggerty and Superlek at ONE 168: Denver, 'The King of the North' told ONE:
"I would prefer to fight Haggerty, not because he's better or anything. I would just like to be the one to take the belt from him."
