"It's your time" - Fans root for Denice Zamboanga's hunt for history in interim world title duel against Alyona Rassohyna

Current No.2-ranked atomweight MMA contender Denice Zamboanga has set the record straight: She wants to become the first Filipina MMA world champion.

Zamboanga is scheduled to face the No.4-rated divisional challenger Alyona Rassohyna for the ONE interim women's atomweight MMA world title in the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 27 on Jan. 10 inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Ahead of that clash, the Filipina MMA star posted a video on Instagram, where she doubled down on this dream and she captioned it with:

"To become the First Filipina MMA World Champion 🏆 Blessed to be here. Just want to thank all the people who's stood by me through it all. Psalm 18:32 It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure."

Aside from repeating her intentions to capture the 26-pound golden belt, 'The Menace' also complied her best moments inside the ring and the circle that made her a top contender in the 115-pound weight class.

Denice Zamboanga says that her well-rounded skills will be enough to finish Alyona Rassohyna at ONE 170

Ahead of her first crack at a world title, the T-Rex MMA representative recently had an interview with ABS-CBN. She is confident that her well-rounded skills in both the striking and grappling departments will be enough to finish her Ukrainian opponent.

The 27-year-old athlete stated:

"I'm confident that I'll get to finish her wherever it goes, whether it be on the feet or on the ground."
