'Android 18' Itsuki Hirata is entering into the most challenging fight of her career against the MMA veteran 'Hamzzang' Ham Seo Hee. Due to the experience difference, Japan's Hirata understands her underdog status.
While speaking in an interview with SCMP MMA, Hirata said:
"Everybody says Ham Seo Hee is strong in her UFC [days]. I know I’m not the favorite for this fight, but I want to showcase whatever I can in the fight."
South Korea's Ham has competed all across the globe and has collected world titles in organizations such as RIZIN MMA and others. The 23-year-old Hirata has a 6-1 record thus far in MMA.

Itsuki Hirata wants ONE gold after Ham Seo Hee
At ONE Fight Night 8, 'Android 18' Itsuki Hirata will look to defeat the MMA veteran 'Hamzzang' and then seek a shot at the ONE atomweight throne later this year.
While speaking with SCMP MMA, Hirata explained:
“I don’t really think about the interim fight or have any specific names on my mind. I just want to fight as much as possible, maybe two or three fights this year. That’s what I want ... Definitely, I want to win and I want to get the [women’s atomweight world] title shot against Angela Lee.”
The two fighters were booked months ago to compete, however, Hirata missed weight and hydration so the bout was rescheduled. Now, the two will throw down on March 24 as part of the ONE Fight Night 8 broadcast.
Hirata was very happy that she made weight this time around. Speaking to SCMP MMA, she said:
“I’m very happy that I can fight and that I got the fight with her, that’s it. I want to bring a great fight in the morning in Asia. I want everyone to be happy and I want to be happy as well. I want to share good feelings with everyone.”
