Jack Catterall secured a dominant decision win over former champion Regis Prograis on Oct. 26 to lay claim to the IBO International light welterweight title. He now finds himself ranked No. 2 in the IBO's top 100 rankings at 140 pounds, and IBO champion Teofimo Lopez is firmly in his sights.

With Devin Haney ranked one place above Catterall on the IBO's rankings, a bout between the pair could come to fruition, particularly given that Eddie Hearn has worked with Haney and is the current promoter of the IBO International champion.

However, first prize for the Chorley native would be a crack at Lopez, and during a recent interview with The Stomping Ground, 'El Gato' broke down why he would beat 'The Takeover':

"I understand Teofimo is going through some stuff, legally, it's all a bit messy. But I would love to fight him."

The 31-year old continued:

"I think I beat him, I think I beat him comfortably. He's gonna say different. I've watched his fights, I watched his fight against Josh [Taylor]. I watched the Steve Claggett fight, he's had a couple of shakey performances. I think my style is all wrong for him."

Jack Catterall reflects on his manager being exposed by Regis Prograis at press conference

Jack Catterall's manager, Sam Jones, was left exposed by Regis Prograis at the final pre-fight press conference ahead of their IBO International title fight.

Jones had worked with Prograis several years before he began working with 'El Gato'. During the media event, 'Rougarou' stated that he had proof the boxing manager had told the American that he would "flatten" Catterall in a fight.

He then played the voice note sent by Jones, which he initially denied existed, and sent the press conference into chaos.

Following his victory over Prograis, Catterall reflected on the viral moment during his aforementioned interview with The Stomping Ground. He said:

"We know each other well enough... It takes a lot more than that to get under my skin. Whether [Prograis] did that to irritate Sam, to cause confrontation between me and Sam, he was p*ssing in the wind if he thought he was going to derail me... I was surprised at it, it caught me off guard." [9:44-10:18]
