Jack Della Maddalena is set to face Randy Brown at UFC 284 in Perth

Jack Della Maddalena is all set to compete in his hometown of Perth, Australia, against UFC welterweight mainstay Randy Brown. Della Maddalena will fight Brown at the highly-anticipated UFC 284 event, which will take place at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, on February 12th, 2023.

Over the past few days, rumors have been rife that the UFC will likely announce the Della Maddalena vs. Brown matchup as part of the UFC 284 fight card. Brown first hinted at the matchup on Twitch. He later took to Instagram and alluded to competing at the UFC's much-awaited event in Perth.

On that note, the UFC's official Australia/New Zealand Twitter account has now put forth a tweet, announcing the fight for UFC 284. An excerpt from the tweet read as follows:

"Local Perth boy Jack Della Maddalena will come face-to-face with Randy 'Rudeboy' Brown in his hometown at #UFC284!"

Jack Della Maddalena (13-2 MMA) secured a unanimous decision victory over Ange Loosa at Dana White's Contender Series event on September 14th, 2021, which earned him a UFC contract. The 26-year-old Aussie made his UFC main roster debut in January 2022 and swiftly racked up a trio of impressive TKO wins inside the octagon. He's currently on a 13-fight win streak.

Meanwhile, Jamaican-American MMA stalwart Randy Brown (16-4 MMA) has competed in the UFC since January 2016. The 32-year-old Brown has amassed a UFC record of 10 victories and four defeats thus far. The Massachusetts-born fighter is presently on a four-fight win streak.


Jack Della Maddalena on being a potential future UFC title challenger

Jack Della Maddalena's most recent fight witnessed him secure a spectacular first-round TKO victory against Danny Roberts at UFC Fight Night: Nzechukwu vs. Cutelaba in November 2022. During his post-fight octagon interview, Della Maddalena received words of high praise from the interviewer, MMA legend Michael Bisping.

'The Count' suggested that Jack Della Maddalena has all the makings of a possible future UFC title challenger. Upon being asked whether he's thinking along the same lines, Della Maddalena seemingly agreed. Moreover, the striking savant asserted that he's willing to take on any opponent offered to him. The rising welterweight star stated:

“Yeah, for sure. Every challenge is different. So, I just; you know, one fight at a time. But I’m ready to go home to Australia and get another fight in by February in summer off in Perth — and hopefully, put someone away in front of my beautiful friends and family." When asked who he'd like to fight next, Maddalena said, "Honestly, anyone. The first person they give me, I’ll probably say yes and be on my merry way.”
