Following her last appearance under the ONE Championship banner, Jackie Buntan spoke about being ready for new challenges.
The Muay Thai specialist beat Martine Michieletto, and although she's at home when competing under this ruleset, she's always looking to test herself. With that in mind, you can understand why Jackie Buntan was excited once she got her next fight proposed to her by ONE Championship.
At ONE 169 on Nov. 8, she will make the switch to kickboxing to face Anissa Meksen for the inaugural ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world championship.
Meksen is an incredibly experienced competitor who has been at the elite level for such a long time at this stage.

Instead of that being intimidating for someone like Buntan, this is what motivates her so much about this particular matchup.
Buntan spoke about her reaction to getting the fight and what excites her about it in a recent interview with Beyond Kick ahead of fight night inside Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand:
"I was excited to get an opponent like Anissa. She's a legend in the game. She's very accomplished, more experienced. But for any athlete, not just in combat sports - that's what you want."
Jackie Buntan is confident in her ability to adapt
Getting to share the ring with a legend of the game like Anissa Meksen is obviously a bonus for Jackie Buntan. But make no mistake about it, she's coming to win on Nov. 8.
A crucial part of this matchup is her ability to adapt after fighting a seasoned and elite kickboxer on her debut in this specific ruleset.
The Muay Thai striker is confident that with the small adjustments she has been able to make during her training camp, she will pose more than a decent threat to Meksen at Lumpinee Stadium.
Buntan is excited to challenge herself but leaving Bangkok with the gold is her primary focus.
