Newly crowned ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world champion Jackie Buntan of the United States and the Philippines is sitting on top of the world after winning ONE Championship gold.
But the 27-year-old Filipina-American star isn't content with what she has achieved so far. Buntan wants more, and she's coming after it in 2025.
Speaking to Val de War in a recent guest interview on DeWar Report, Buntan said that one of the biggest reasons she joined the world's largest martial arts organization is the possibility of competing in various fighting disciplines.

The Boxing Works product said:
"Yeah, exactly that. You know, the great thing, the reason why I wanted to sign with ONE Championship, besides it being such a large platform, is that you have so many disciplines you can compete in. You have Muay Thai, you have kickboxing, MMA, grappling. And me being a striker, that just doubles my fight opportunity, really. Being able to go from Muay Thai and kickboxing and my training partner, she was able to compete in both."
Buntan captured the inaugural ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world title with a unanimous decision victory over French-Algerian kickboxing icon 'C18' Anissa Meksen at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug on Prime Video.

Jackie Buntan still can't believe she is a ONE world champion: "This hasn't been processed"
It has been a little over a month now since Jackie Buntan became the inaugural ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world champion. But admittedly, for the 27-year-old star, things haven't quite settled in just yet.
She told DeWar Report:
"A little bit, you know, I kept saying ever since I literally got the belt when they announced it. I was like, this hasn't been processed. I've been saying that for a whole week, and I feel like it still kind of hasn't been processed, only just because I don't know, I'm still going about the same routine in life. I think as the days go by, I'll start processing and sinking in."
