ONE Championship Muay Thai striker Jackie Buntan said that the extra time away for 'JT' Janet Todd only helped her develop her skills even more. 'JT' was supposed to fight the undisputed ONE atomweight Muay Thai world title in December last year but had to pull out due to COVID-19.
The ONE atomweight Muay Thai world title unification match was re-booked for March 24 at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. ONE Fight Night events are broadcast live and for free in North America via Prime Video.
The co-main event battle will be a world title unifier between interim world champion Janet Todd and the reigning ONE atomweight Muay Thai queen Allycia Hellen Rodrigues.
Even though Janet Todd was forced to cancel her prior match, according to her training partner Jackie Buntan, it only helped her. Now, 'JT' is even more dangerous as she looks to capture the Muay Thai throne. In an interview with ONE Championship, Buntan explained:

"Yeah, I would say it's probably the longest fight camp she's ever had -- I'm kidding. But she started the fight camp in November. Because we were both supposed to be on the card, COVID happened. I mentioned this before, but I think the extra time has, like most people. Allycia Rodrigues probably answered the same way, that extra time does help get ready for this fight."
Jackie Buntan fully supports Janet Todd
Janet Todd is the current ONE atomweight kickboxing world champion plus holds the ONE interim atomweight Muay Thai world championship. The US-born athlete will look to become the undisputed atomweight Muay Thai queen when she faces Brazil's Allycia Hellen Rodrigues at ONE Fight Night 8.
Todd's training partner Jackie Buntan has full faith in 'JT's ability to walk away with ONE gold in this upcoming match. While speaking to ONE in an interview, he explained:
“I think I expect Janet just to outsmart her and shut her down. And that doesn't mean like knock her out in the first round, blah, blah, blah. Not literally shut her down, whatever Allycia tries to do, Janet replies with 'no, that's not happening. I'm shutting it down.'"
