Newly crowned ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world champion Jackie Buntan of the United States and the Philippines, at 27 years of age, has achieved more than most people her age have achieved. But admittedly, the Filipina-American superstar says it wasn't just by her own doing.
Buntan is quick to give credit where credit is due, and she is more than willing to give props to her teammates and coaches at Boxing Works in California, where she has honed her skills since young.
Speaking to Val de War in a recent guest interview on DeWar Report, Buntan thanked her Boxing Works family for helping her become a ONE world champion.

The 27-year-old Filipina-American fighter said:
"If I could shout out my whole team at Boxing Works. Honestly, all of them, they're still on the amateur level, but soon enough, professional, and they're doing everything right. So shout out to my team at Boxing Works. They're all on the rise, for sure."
Buntan scored a monumental five-round unanimous decision victory over French-Algerian kickboxing legend 'C18' Anissa Meksen last November 8 at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug on Prime Video.
With the win, she captured the inaugural ONE women's atomweight kickboxing world championship.
Jackie Buntan says she is happy to live the simple life as a world champion: "I'm kind of grateful for that"
Despite becoming a world champion at the age of 27, Jackie Buntan says her life has not changed much, if at all. And she likes it that way.
The Filipina-American kickboxing star told DeWar Report:
"Honestly, no, and I'm kind of grateful for that. You know, I tend to be a homebody. I've been going out because I've been in training camp for like, two months. But honestly, right now, I'm just enjoying staying at home, kind of doing nothing, taking my time, and having slow mornings. But yeah, besides media and stuff online, my life kind of remains the same, which I'm grateful for."
