Jacob Smith knows what to expect when he walks into the biggest fight of his career to date at ONE 169. The Brit has accumulated high-level experience in recent years after a tough introduction to life in ONE Championship.
Smith made his debut in the promotion several years ago by facing off with Thai superstar Rodtang Jitmuangnon. He came up short that time around, but now he has the opportunity to secure revenge at Lumpinee Stadium on Nov. 8.
The 32-year old also has the chance to leave Bangkok, Thailand, with the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world championship. Against an opponent like 'The Iron Man,' he knows that he needs to balance his aggression in order to keep the pressure on, but not get carried away.
Rodtang is a dangerous opponent but Smith still intends to try to capitalize on any and all mistakes that he makes, as he told Cageside Press in a recent interview:

"I'm not one to sit back on the back foot and try to score on points. That's not my style. Having said that, I'm not going to be reckless. But if I can see any little opportunity, then of course, I'll go for the kill."

Jacob Smith is more confident than ever
The first time Jacob Smith faced off with Rodtang, he proved that he has the heart and toughness to compete against the best in the world. However, since then, he has grown in confidence and now believes that he belongs at the very top.
He expects the best version of Rodtang on Nov. 8, which means that he will need to produce a career-defining performance to get his hand raised.
