Jaime Munguia suffered his second professional defeat in stunning fashion as he was knocked out by Bruno Surace on Dec. 14. Earlier this year, the Mexican boxer tasted defeat for the first time in his career, when he lost to Canelo Alvarez via decision on May 4.
The 28-year-old bounced back from his first loss with a knockout finish against Erik Bazinyan. But several months later, he would be knocked out against Surace, who secured only the fifth knockout victory of his career.
Munguia is regarded as a genuine knockout artist, with 35 of his total 44 wins coming via KO. However, the glove appeared to be on the other hand when he faced Surace, who stunned the boxing world by finishing the Tijuana native in Round 6.
Footage of the knockout was uploaded to X by Top Rank Boxing, who wrote:

Canelo Alvarez admits to carrying Jaime Munguia through their fight
Canelo Alvarez and Jaime Munguia clashed in May in what was viewed as a battle between the 'present' and the 'future' of Mexican boxing. Alvarez has been in the conversation for best pound-for-pound boxer in the world for several years. While the 28-year-old has quietly risen through the ranks while racking up devastating knockouts.
Their highly-anticipated clash saw a competitive opening four rounds, before the undisputed super middleweight champion uncorked a perfectly-timed uppercut that dropped Munguia for the first time in his career.
The younger pugilist appeared more vulnerable after the knockdown, but Alvarez refrained from searching for a shot that could have finished the fight. Following the result, fingers were pointed at the Guadalajara native, accusing him of "carrying" his opponent through the fight.
In a recent interview with DAZN, the 34-year-old revisited the clash, and said:
"I enjoyed [the Munguia] fight a lot. That's why I didn't want to finish Munguia, because I enjoyed it a lot... Yeah, in every round [I held him up], in every round if I wanted [I could have finished it]. I really enjoyed that fight, that's why I took my time."
