Jaime Munguia vs. Erik Bazinyan will headline this Friday's Top Rank boxing event, later this evening (Sept. 20) at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona with the WBO International super middleweight title on the line.
Apart from a closely contested decision loss against Canelo Alvarez in his last outing, Munguia (43-1) has never tasted defeat in his professional career. Seeing as the 27-year-old is in the top ten of the division in all four licensing bodies' rankings, a win this Friday would help him pave his way to another title shot.
Bazinyan (32-0-1) is undefeated in his career. However, in his most recent outing, the 29-year-old was fought to a draw by fellow Canadian Shakeel Phinn. 'BZO' failing to get past Phinn would be a confidence boost for his opponent whose only loss is to Alvarez.
According to ESPN BET Munguia is a -1200 favorite over Bazinyan (+650 underdog) for the matchup.
