The Jaime Munguia vs. Erik Bazinyan prediction is here to provide technical insight into next Friday's blockbuster boxing match. The two super middleweights lock horns over 12 rounds in the headliner of a Top Rank card set to be streamed on ESPN+ on Sept. 20.
Joining them are undefeated super featherweights Andres Cortes and Charly Suarez, who cross swords in a 10-round war. The card is distinguished by its lack of title fights, world or otherwise, and high density of unbeaten fighters scheduled to faced overmatched opponents.
The only logical conclusion would be to assume that the undefeated fighters will emerge victorious. But will they? Upsets are, after all, part of boxing.

#1 Super middleweight: Jaime Munguia vs. Erik Bazinyan
Jaime Munguia vs. Erik Bazinyan is an interesting main event set up for fireworks, no title required. Both men are hard-nosed punchers with dynamite in their hands. Furthermore, they possess equally durable chins, with neither man having ever been stopped.
What separates them though is the level of competition they've faced. Munguia has shared the ring with the very best of them, having most recently faced an all-time great in Canelo Alvarez, which led to the first blemish on his 43-1 record. Additionally, he defeated three-time world title challenger Sergiy Derevyanchenko.
Bazinyan, skilled and powerful as he may be, has faced much lower-level competition despite being undefeated at 32-0-1. Munguia has, at the very least, been a world champion, having once reigned as the WBO light middleweight champion.
There is a lower likelihood of Bazinyan rising to the occasion and fighting to Munguia's level than there is of Muguia running out of ideas against an inexperienced boxer. Given their respective chins, a knockout is unlikely, but Munguia should be expected to win in a comfortable manner.
The Prediction: Jaime Munguia via majority decision
