Conor McGregor and Jake Gyllenhaal made surprise appearances at the UFC 285 ceremonial weigh-ins. After headliners Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane faced off for the last time before their bout, 'The Notorious' took to the stage to inform fans in attendance that they were about to be part of a movie.
The Irish superstar will star alongside Hollywood veteran Jake Gyllenhaal in a remake of the Patrick Swayze-starring 1989 classic, 'Road House'. According to reports, Gyllenhaal is the movie's protagonist, a former UFC fighter who becomes a bouncer in a Florida Keys bar. While McGregor's role is still unknown, it is reported that he will play an original character.
The scene filmed at the recent weigh-ins involved UFC veteran Jay Hieron, who faced off against Gyllenhaal at a fictional UFC 222 event. It also involved the Hollywood star slapping Hieron as Dana White separated the two men. While McGregor was not involved in this particular scene, his presence certainly excited the crowd present.

Jake Gyllenhaal at UFC 285 weigh-ins: What role is Conor McGregor playing in 'Road House'?
Conor McGregor is a busy man. The Irish superstar has been out of action since fracturing his leg against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021, but he has been keeping himself occupied.
Juggling rehabilitation and making his first foray into Hollywood alongside Jake Gyllenhaal while preparing for his return to the octagon, 'The Notorious' has had his hands full this past year. McGregor is currently involved in filming the upcoming season of 'The Ultimate Fighter' in Las Vegas, where he will reprise his coaching role opposite Michael Chandler before the two men fight in the octagon sometime later this year.
While there aren't any exact details surrounding what role Conor McGregor will play in 'Road House', it is widely speculated that he has been cast in the role of Jimmy Reno, played by Marshall Teague in the original, as the right-hand henchman of the movie's antagonist.
However, his role remains a mystery and only time will tell if 'The Notorious' can replicate his legendary pay-per-view numbers at the Hollywood box office.
