Jake Lindsey will knuckle up and toe the line against Elvin Brito at the top of the marquee bout for BKFC Kansas on Aug. 16. Lindsey fights with a particular vigor that makes sense when referencing a somewhat recent post about honoring your ancestors by your actions.
The former UFC and Bellator veteran feels everyone has a responsibility to make their lineage proud by honoring their predecessors by their actions. There is nothing more important to him than his children as Lindsey also eyes growing his family more in the future.
Lindsey quipped about how he learns the best when he goes through trauma and when reflecting upon that. This can come in many forms including setbacks inside of the ring.
The last fight for 'Gypsy' Jake was Aug. 25, 2023, in a losing effort on points to Gorjan Slaveski in a clash for the vacant BKFC welterweight championship. Before that BKFC 49 headliner, Lindsey punched his ticket to a title shot by finishing current BKFC UK welterweight champion Connor Tierney in the fourth round of their BKFC 37 main event showdown.

When reflecting on the layoff from gloveless combat that has been just shy of one full year and his newly accrued tools to paint a picture in this next outing, Lindsey said (via Bare Knuckle Bowker):
"I've been training the whole time. I have a bunch of dudes fighting. I'm in really good shape. I got to practice a lot of just; because I injured my right hand. So my jab's looking good. Yeah, man, a lot of growth over a year. I'm excited to paint it across Elvin's face. [That] is what I'm excited to do, to be honest with you."

Jake Lindsey and his looming Elvin Brito bout
Jake Lindsey can return to the fold in a big way here from competitive dormancy and carve out a path toward a sophomore crack at BKFC gold down the line.
The 38-year-old is ranked number two at welterweight while Brito is number four in the 165-pound division heading into this matchup. Lindsey will take on the inaugural BKFC welterweight champion here in the coming days and when discussing the machinations of this matchup, he stated (via Bare Knuckle Bowker):
"Elvin's a good opponent. I'm excited to fight him. I think he's a good guy from what I know of. Former champion, I just want to punch his face off with all due respect, you know?"
The Kansas native will certainly be the partisan favorite here as Lindsey looks to rebound from his lone bare-knuckle boxing loss and improve his overall record in the sport to 5-1 in four days.
