A potential bout between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz, either in MMA or boxing, could have the potential to pull in good numbers. The YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul recently challenged the veteran UFC fighter from Stockton to a two-fight deal; a boxing match and a rematch in MMA.
Jake Paul has headlined five exhibition boxing events till date. His fight with Bellator, One FC and UFC alum Ben Askren pulled in around 1.5 million pay-per-view buys. In comparison, his bout with former UFC middleweight king Anderson Silva pulled in 200-300,000 pay-per-view buys.
The question remains, how much does each fighter stand to make from a potential clash?

According to an article by The Mirror, Nate Diaz would box Jake Paul for not less than $10 million. However, veteran MMA fighter and fight analyst Chael Sonnen thinks that the Stockton native would make bigger bucks in a trilogy bout with Conor McGregor rather than a boxing match with Jake Paul.
Skip to 12:00 for Chael Sonnen's financial analysis of a potential Diaz vs. Paul bout:
Chael Sonnen wasn't optimistic about the numbers in boxing and said the following:
"I guess he [Diaz] is going [over] to boxing. I mean, I can't imagine the money [involved]. He's probably staring at about $12 million [according to MMA math], about $12 million to go in there and fight Conor for a third time. And, I can't imagine there's that kind of money [or] even half of that in boxing."
With regards to 'The Problem Child', the 6-0 boxer's highest earnings were $2,000,000 in each of his bouts with Tyron Woodley. Paul made $500,000 less in his fight against Anderson Silva, at $1.5 million.
A potential bout with Nate Diaz could increase the numbers for Paul, who could touch the $5,000,000 barrier.
Jake Paul's foray into mixed martial arts
Jake Paul has found immense success in the sport of boxing, having knockout wins over names like Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley. 'The Problem Child' even has a win over the great Anderson Silva, and even scored a knockdown over the 'The Spider'.
Paul has signed a multi-fight deal with what is considered the second-best MMA promotion in the world: the PFL or Professional Fighters League. Soon after signing the deal, the YouTuber-cum-boxer and now MMA fighter called out Nate Diaz for a two-fight deal. He said he'd box the Stockton native first and then rematch him in an MMA bout.
Here's what 'The Problem Child' said:
"I'm so dedicated to this that I offered Nate Diaz a two-fight deal. First, we box. Then six months later, we fight MMA in the PFL smart cage. Lay it all on the line. If that's not [ballsy] then, I don't know what is. Nate Diaz, I'm down to fight you in your own damn sport. It's a two-fight deal. Let's make it happen!"
Paul has wrestled in high-school, however he has his work cut out for him in a talent-rich organization like PFL.
