McGregor hasn't competed since breaking his leg in the opening round of his matchup against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021. Following his recovery, 'The Notorious' was set to face Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in a welterweight bout, but the fight was scrapped after McGregor injured his toe while training. He is expected to return this year according to remarks made by UFC CEO Dana White.

According to multiple reports Conor McGregor is set to face Logan Paul in an exhibition boxing contest at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai next year, following a preliminary agreement with the Ambani Family. McGregor's news outlet The Mac Life revealed that the MMA superstar is expected to get paid $250 million.

Former UFC fighter Brendan Schaub gave his take on the potential matchup on his YouTube channel and said that McGregor's path to victory would lie on his seriousness towards the fight:

''My only concern is if Conor doesn’t take it serious, if he kind of moseys in, he’s partying, I think he’ll get f***ed up. Now, if it’s prime Conor, Logan might be get pieced up.''
