Jake Paul shared his thoughts on Conor McGregor's fierce criticism after his recent victory over Mike Perry. On July 20, Paul defeated Perry by a sixth round KO after thoroughly dominating the fight with effective use of his size and boxing experience.
After parting ways with the UFC, Perry has become a marquee figure in the bare-knuckle fighting circuit and McGregor recently acquired part ownership of BKFC. The Irishman is optimistic about the growth of bare-knuckle fighting, which he has lauded as the 'purest form' of combat sports.
As a result, McGregor appears to have perceived Perry's defeat in boxing as a serious blow to the sport's reputation. After the fight, he launched a scathing attack on the 32-year-old for his lacklustre performance. McGregor also accused Paul of weight bullying and steroid use while criticising him for calling out older fighters.
In a recent episode of the BS W/ Jake Paul podcast, Paul reacted to McGregor's fiery X posts:

"Angry co*ehead. The guys is on Twitter, the guy is on yacht, the guy is on co***ne but he is not in the ring winning fights like me. So he can say whatever he wants. I think it's just kind of funny that he just tweaked and geeked right now - going crazy like that."

Jake Paul thinks Conor McGregor is "hiding behind" his UFC contract to avoid a crossover boxing match
Jake Paul has pursued a mega crossover boxing match against Conor McGregor since transitioning to boxing. However, McGregor has not responded to his repeated callouts.
Continuing further in the aforementioned episode of the BS W/ Jake Paul podcast, Paul accused McGregor of being "owned" by the UFC and using the conditions of his UFC contract as an excuse to avoid a crossover fight agaisnt him:
"He won't fight me. I've said it since a long time ago. Conor McGregor, he's owned by Dana White. He probably can't get out of his contract but that's what he will hide behind, because he is not getting in there. So all the sh** talk, all of that, he won't put it on the line." [5:10]
Influencer boxing has been criticized for its perceived lack of relevance in the mainstream competitive sphere of the sport. While Paul has defeated several accomplished MMA fighters so far, he has been heavily criticized for choosing his opponents wisely.
