Jake Paul has just announced his intention to compete in the 2028 Olympics, which will be held in Los Angeles, the United States. Naturally, 'The Problem Child' will look to be part of the American Olympic boxing team, determined to capture a gold medal on home soil.

The statement marks another step in his journey as a boxer, which he first began back in 2018, when he faced Deji Olatunji, KSI's younger brother, in an amateur bout, winning via fifth-round TKO. He has since gone on to author a respectable professional boxing record of 10-1, and is now aiming higher.

"I'm going to enter the 2028 Olympics for boxing in Los Angeles. I'm sick and tired of waiting around, waiting for another gold [medal] for team USA, so not retiring. I definitely, probably, just added a couple more years under my boxing career because of that, but Los Angeles, United States, sick as f***."

Paul has spoken candidly about the path he is carving in his boxing career. Previously, his priority was becoming a world champion in the sport. Now, he is aiming to capture an Olympic gold medal, perhaps achieve both. To do so, he must commit to facing proper boxers, however.

He is coming off a recent demolition of BKFC star Mike Perry, who showed a distinct lack of technical boxing skill in their matchup. Moreover, he is now on a collision course with the legendary Mike Tyson. While 'Iron Mike' is a heavyweight great of 'The Sweet Science,' he is also 58 years old.

Many have criticized Paul for aiming to fight someone of such an advanced age, with UFC CEO Dana White mocking 'The Problem Child' by claiming that the one time he fought a professional boxer his age and size in Tommy Fury, he lost.

Jake Paul worked with team USA ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics

On Dec. 19, 2023, Jake Paul made an announcement on X/Twitter that highlighted his commitment to boxing. 'The Problem Child' revealed that he had partnered with USA Boxing, training with the Olympic team in Colorado Springs, before ultimately accompanying them to Paris for the 2024 Olympics.

Now, it seems that Paul is determined to compete and win gold for the United States. It is an ambitious goal, but one he will surely spend the next four years training for.
